The Uzbek delegation returned from Hangzhou, where the 4th Asian Para Games were held. The athletes brought 79 medals to the Republic, namely 25 gold, 24 silver and 30 bronze, the press office of the Government of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
A solemn meeting took place at Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport. The high-ranking officials, including Head of the Department of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan Odil Abdurakhmanov, and the representatives of the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports and the National Paralympic and Olympic Committees took part in the meeting. The representatives of the sports community attended the event as well.
In his speech, Abdurakhmanov congratulated on behalf of the Government the participants of the Games on their successful performance, noting that their victories were an excellent example of the attention and support provided by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Uzbekistan’s sports sector. The athletes expressed gratitude to the authorities of the Republic for creating the favourable conditions and opportunities for development.
