President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with Vice President of Starlink Business Operations at SpaceX Lauren Dreyer and TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew on the sidelines of DigitalBridge, the Telegram channel of Akorda reported.
Noting that SpaceX is a leader in space telecommunications, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev noted that its technologies play a strategic role in developing high technologies, and therefore Kazakhstan sees the American company as a reliable partner for mutually beneficial cooperation. Lauren Dreyer shared the plans to expand Starlink in Kazakhstan, including the provision of satellite Internet access in remote villages.
During a meeting with TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew, Tokayev noted the growing popularity of the Chinese platform in Kazakhstan, where more than 10 million users have been registered.
Shou Zi Chew presented the TikTok StartUp Academy project, developed jointly with Astana Hub to promote the products of Kazakh startups. For example, over 200 business ventures in Kazakhstan have been supported by TikTok within the TikTok Startup Valley competition, and startup owners are receiving training.
