Movement of residents in Bishkek restricted during CIS Summit

Children’s classes have been moved to distance learning, and roads will be blockaded from the public.

On October 12-13, road traffic in Bishkek and Chui Region will be temporarily limited. This will be done due to an official visit of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to Kyrgyzstan and a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reports.

Over 4,000 employees and about 250 vehicles will be involved to ensure the safety and law and order during the event. The staffs of the internal affairs bodies of the Bishkek garrison and the Chui Region Main Department of Internal Affairs will work in an enhanced mode. On these days, all schools and kindergartens will be moved to distant learning by decision of the Department of Education of the Mayor’s Office.

According to the police, the roads will be blockaded only when the guests’ motorcades are moving. The roads from the airport and in the city centre and the bypass road will be blockaded. Citizens are asked not to park their cars in these areas.
