Kyrgyz capital beautified in preparation for upcoming CIS Summit

The city now has more decorative lighting fixtures and green spaces.

The Bishkek city utilities are working hard to prepare for the upcoming Summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which will be held in the capital city, the press office of the Mayor’s Office reported on the work done and the results achieved.

The main tasks included the reconstruction of the fountain of the Aska-Tash complex, where the CIS Summit will take place. More than 100 lighting fixtures were installed, which will create spectacular lighting effects around the monument. 20 decorative lighting poles add bright colours to the urban environment.

An important stage of preparatory work was the expansion of the roadway on Fuchik Street near the Aska-Tash complex. This will ensure the smooth traffic flow during the Summit. Bus stops and sidewalks in the area were refurbished.

8,500 flowers were planted on Fuchik Street, and 1,760 coniferous thujas were planted on Chui Avenue. A contract for the supply of another 2,700 thujas was concluded. Landscape works continue around the stele at the intersection of Chui Avenue and Fuchik Street.

Cables were laid and 216 poles were installed on Aitmatov Avenue to add lighting in this area.
