President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the Uzbekistan national team on their impressive results at the 19th Summer Asian Games, which were held in the Chinese city of Hangzhou. He expressed his admiration and pride for the Uzbek athletes. The Uzbekistan team won 71 medals, which is a record compared to the result of the previous Games, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
These Games brought together 11,000 athletes from 45 Asian countries. Mirziyoyev said the representatives of Uzbekistan had demonstrated high professionalism and determination. The President noted their courage, perseverance, pursuit of victory and unshakable will, thanks to which they deserved their prizes.
The girls’ leadership was outstanding; they won half of the awards earned. The Uzbek athletes displayed their strength and talent in kurash, judo, boxing, athletics and rhythmic gymnastics. They successfully performed at the Taekwondo, cycling, weightlifting and football tournaments.
