The possibility of building temporary shelters for drivers and passengers who are unable to quickly leave dangerous road segments due to natural hazards was discussed in the capital of Tajikistan, the press office of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defence under the Government of Tajikistan reported.
According to the Committee, the dangerous segments of the Dushanbe-Varzob highway have necessitated building temporary shelters for drivers and their passengers stranded on the road. Particular attention should be paid to the Maykhura and Ushtur passages.
«Avalanches and rockfalls often occur here. Employees work on these areas around the clock from December to March. Therefore, such temporary shelters at these passages are necessary,» the Committee reported.
The idea of supporting this project is currently being considered.
