Tokayev visits SANA Schoolchildren’s Palace

The President of Kazakhstan learned about the activities of children’s clubs and sections at the Centre.

President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev visited the new SANA Development Centre for the younger generation, located on the left bank of Astana. The building that occupies an area 7,500 square metres houses more than 60 clubs and sports sections for children aged 5 and 17, the Telegram channel of Akorda reported.

Young visitors to SANA can choose several areas of activities to take up. They can practice music and martial arts, develop technical creativity, take up swimming and choreography, study social sciences, etc. Up to 700 children can attend the Centre at the same time.

The President visited the Lego, robotics, 3D modelling and ceramics classrooms, music clubs and a swimming pool to inspect their equipment and talked to the teachers of the Centre, children and their parents.

«There should be similar centres in every city and region. Recently, I have held a meeting with businessmen. This is necessary for children, for the younger generation. Therefore, fulfilling this task should be a priority,» Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said.

According to the Astana Mayor’s Office, 15 children’s development centres will open in the capital of Kazakhstan by 2029.
