The Dushanbe 2023 International Forum, which was held on September 29-30, focused on Tajikistan’s attractiveness for investment. More than 800 participants from 40 countries, including businessmen and government officials, took part in the event, MIR 24 reports.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon addressed the forum participants via videoconference. He noted that over the last decade, over 110 billion somoni (over 900 billion rubbles) have been invested in Tajikistan’s economy, one-third of which is direct investment. Currently, over 80 state investment projects worth 45 billion somoni (almost 400 billion rubbles) are being implemented in Tajikistan, and this figure may continue to grow.
The key advantages of Tajikistan include four transport routes linking the Republic with foreign markets. Chairman of the Upper House of Parliament Rustami Emomali noted that these routes build the groundwork for partnerships and economic growth.
Emomali emphasised that new opportunities in exporting eco-friendly products are emerging in agriculture. Tajikistan is also seeking to attract investment to the healthcare, industrial and energy sectors.
