A solemn ceremony for awarding scholarships from the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Tajikistan took place at the Tajik National University. Rector of the Tajik National University, Professor Kobiljon Khushvakhtzoda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Tajikistan Ji Shumin and the heads of higher educational institutions and students attended the event, the Khovar National News Agency of Tajikistan reports.
The scholarship recipients totalled 20, including students from higher educational institutions and secondary educational institutions from different regions of Tajikistan. All of them have been studying the Chinese language for a long time. They displayed their best abilities and took an active part in events and contests.
The Rector of the Tajik National University noted that an increasing number of talented young people get interested in learning the Chinese language, adding that the desire of Tajik youth for studying in China grows every day.
The Ambassador of China to Tajikistan congratulated the students on their scholarships, emphasising the important role of education in relations between the two countries. He noted that the scholarship aims to support students who are passionate about the Chinese language and culture and promote cooperation in education, which serves as a bridge connecting the two nations.
