Kazakhstan resumes TV broadcasting

The failure was caused by the discharge of satellite batteries.

Kazakhstan resumed satellite TV broadcasting after a failure that occurred on the evening of September 15, Nur.rz reports the details.

TV and radio broadcasting and data transfers were suspended due to the discharge of the battery packs of the KazSat-3 communications satellite. Several TV channels in Kazakhstan and foreign countries were unavailable in OtauTV packages, but the state channels continued to be broadcast via KazSat-2.

TV broadcasting was resumed at 10:11 am on September 16, after the team of RCKS JSC had worked until the morning to restore services. The Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace apologized for the inconvenience caused.

According to the Ministry, the batteries discharged on September 15 while the satellite was travelling for a long time in the Moon’s and Earth’s shadow.
