The All-Republic baiga tournament, marking the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, took place at the Kazanat hippodrome in Astana. This event, organised by the Astana Federation of National and Olympic Equestrian Sports with the support of the Astana Akimat, brought together about 50 best riders from 12 regions of the country, the press office of the City Administration reported.
The high-ranking guests, including President of the Federation Yerlan Kanalimov, a deputy of the Majilis of the Republic of Kazakhstan Karakat Abden and Head of the sports department of the Astana Administration Samat Zhylkybaev attended the solemn opening ceremony.
The riders competed in several disciplines, including the 24 km Zhalgyr race, the 18 km Top race and the 25 km Alaman race. The prize fund is 20 million tenge, which made the competition more attractive for participants.
The organisers prepared surprises for the spectators, including a lottery with valuable prizes. This will allow them not only to enjoy the exciting races, but also to have a chance to win more prizes.
