On August 22, a joint meeting with activists of the Kyrgyz diaspora was held at the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Russia during the working visit of Ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan Jamila Jamanbayeva to the Russian Federation. Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatyana Moskalkova attended the event, the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The main areas of activity of the Institute of the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms were presented at the meeting. The parties also discussed pressing issues related to the rights of Kyrgyz citizens. The Ombudsmen from the Russian Federation and Kyrgyzstan expressed their readiness to join efforts to solve specific problems and agreed to set up a working group, consisting of representatives of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan and members of the Kyrgyz diaspora.
Jamanbayeva and Moskalkova held a meeting to discuss assistance and protection for socially vulnerable categories of citizens and workers from Kyrgyzstan. They also considered the prospects of cooperation between the two countries in this area.
