Uzbek delegation wins 106 medals of II CIS Games

Uzbekistan ranked third in the team standings, and Belarus and Russia took second and first places, respectively.

The delegation of Uzbek athletes achieved remarkable success at the II CIS Games, which were held in Minsk. Their performance resulted in 106 medals: 28 gold, 25 silver and 53 bronze, the press office of the Government of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The Uzbek team took the third place of honour. The Belarusian athletes, who crowned their efforts with 48 gold, 78 silver and 110 bronze medals, ranked second. The first place went to the Russian delegation that won 149 gold, 89 silver and 50 bronze medals.

Compared to the statistics of the current Games and the previous CIS Games, which were held in Kazan in 2021, the Uzbek athletes made significant progress. They won 23 gold, 32 silver and 35 bronze medals of the CIS Games in 2021, which is 16 medals less than this year.

The Uzbek athletes displayed their outstanding skills and techniques in the sambo and Thai boxing tournaments. Kabuljon Akhmedov and Ikhtiyar Eshmurodov won gold medals in the sambo tournament. Nazina Abdullayeva and Anisjon Khakimov are the winners of the Thai boxing tournaments.
