Support for business and agriculture reported at meeting with President of Kazakhstan

Baiterek Holding allocated 114 billion tenge to finance large businesses in the first six months of the year.

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev reviewed the work done by Baiterek Holding in the first half of 2023, including the initiatives to support entrepreneurs and the agro-industrial sector and access to proper housing, the press office of the President of the Republic reported to CentralAsia.news.

Large business funding amounted to 114.4 billion tenge. Baiterek Holding supports small and medium-sized businesses through the Damu Fund that has supported more than 15,000 entrepreneurs.

In 2023, Otbasy Bank continues to provide housing to low-income individuals and families: a total of 29,000 families. In particular, the Bank subsidizes housing — government sponsored economic assistance for disabled people and families with many children. Over 9,000 applications were approved in the first half of the year.

The President was informed that Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC has allocated more than 271 billion tenge and supported about 9,000 farmers this year. More than 131 billion tenge in loans was allocated for agricultural investment projects to enhance food security and reduce import dependence. Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC and KazAgroFinance JSC have provided 70 percent of funding in the agricultural sector.
