The preparations for the new academic year are in full swing at all educational institutions throughout the country. In accordance with the programme for preparation of 7-year-old children for first grade, approved by the Ministry of Education and Science, training begins on August 1. During this period, first-graders go through the introductory stage.
Parents must submit a package of documents, including the child’s profile, photographs, medical certificates and copies of passports, to enter school. Parents will also provide a child’s birth certificate and their marriage certificate. Only children born in 2016 will be accepted to school. Children born in 2017 will not be accepted to the first grade.
According to the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan, the admission to first grade at all educational institutions in Dushanbe is free of charge. This complies with the Constitution of Tajikistan, the Law on Education and the Model Regulations on General Educational Institutions.
In the event that the school management claims money for the admission of a child to first grade, parents must demand a receipt or make a complaint on the hotline of the Dushanbe Main Department of Education.
