Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan trade grew by 1.5 times in 2022

Bilateral trade continues to grow this year through increased textile exports from Uzbekistan.

On July 18, the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation held a regular meeting of Shusha. Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov led the meeting, the press office of the Government of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsis.news.

The key issues under discussion include the growth of trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. In 2022, it increased by 1.5 times, and by 16% since the beginning of 2023. The two countries have the potential to increase trade, and an ambitious plan to reach $1 billion was proposed at the meeting.

The ministers, heads of departments, industry associations, educational institutions and commercial banks of the two countries, as well as diplomats attended the meeting.

Following the meeting, the parties signed the protocol and several agreements and memoranda supporting the agreements reached.
