President of Tajikistan instructs to increase honey exports

Emomali Rahmon gave specific instructions in his speech at a beekeeping seminar.

A beekeeping seminar was held in Khovaling district of Khatlon Region of Tajikistan. President Emomali Rahmon attended the event. In his speech, he instructed to take measures to increase exports of honey and other bee products, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

Rahmon said local natural resources create conditions conducive to increasing honey production to 14,000 tonnes per year. In 2022, the country produced 4,600 tonnes. The President emphasised that he regarded this figure as unsatisfactory.

The President instructed to produce more beekeeping by-products, such as nectar, propolis and bee venom, and set up a national laboratory with international accreditation.

The Tajik leader added that the growth in Tajikistan’s beekeeping sector has allowed creating about 10,000 new jobs. In 2005, the Honey Holiday was first celebrated in the cities and regions throughout the country. Tajik honey has won numerous international awards, Rahmon added.
