President of Kyrgyzstan calls on compatriots to keep order and protect nature

The President emphasised the need to protect nature and natural resources and not to pollute the environment.

On June 14, speaking at the ceremony in honour of Kyrgyz rescuers, President Sadyr Japarov called on his compatriots to keep order and protect the environment. He noted that nature is a unique wealth that needs to be taken care of. However, citizens leave garbage around after their outdoor recreation activities, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

Focusing on the ecology of Lake Issyk-Kul, the Kyrgyz leader said the divers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations removed about 96,000 metres of poaching nets and cleared it of about 6 tonnes of garbage for 4 months of the year. This work is ongoing.

«We urge tourists visiting our country to protect the nature of Kyrgyzstan, but we show the opposite by our example. I urge everyone to educate one another, cultivate self-discipline and respect the environment without polluting it,» Japarov emphasised.

The President said the tourism industry is one of the priority sectors of Kyrgyzstan’s economy, noting that according to the forecast, 10 million tourists are expected to visit the country this year.
