Kazakhstan and China sign mutual visa exemption

Citizens of Kazakhstan may stay in China for up to 90 days within 6 months.

Kazakhstan and China signed an intergovernmental agreement on mutual exemption from tourist and business visa requirements, RIA Novosti reports.

In accordance with the agreement, citizens of the two countries may stay without a visa for up to 30 calendar days upon entry through a border crossing for a total of up to 90 calendar days within 6 months. The agreement was signed during the state visit of Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev to China, where he held talks with PRC President Xi Jinping.

«We have a common goal of boosting bilateral relations. We also share the desire to strengthen regional and international security and cooperation,» Tokayev said during the meeting.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, the adoption of this agreement will contribute to building up bilateral relations, easing visa procedures for citizens of the two countries.

As reported, the intergovernmental agreement was signed to strengthen strategic partnerships and facilitate travel between the two states.
