A concert marking Victory Day May 9 took place at Sadriddin Aini Tajik State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Tajikistan on the eve of Victory Day, the MIR 24 TV channel reported.
The festive event included a theatrical performance, in which the favourite songs, including My Land, Meeting on the Elbe, Cranes, Spark, Katyusha and Smuglyanka, were performed. It has become a tradition to hold festive concerts like this, however, this year’s concert programme included modern songs.
Director of Sadriddin Aini Tajik State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet Kamoliddin Saifiddinov noted that the main aim of the event is to attract young people to theatrical art and foster a taste of it so that young people will realise what their fathers and grandfathers did for them to live in peace and cohesion.
Representatives of foreign diplomatic missions in Tajikistan were invited to the concert.
