On April 10, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in Astana. Talks and a welcome ceremony took place at the Akorda Residence, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported to CentralAsia.news.
Speaking at the welcome ceremony, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev stressed that culture and interaction in this area play an important role in building up relations between the two republics.
Tokayev noted that the countries agreed to hold Decades of Culture. Azerbaijan will be hosting the Days of Culture of Kazakhstan this year. The opening ceremony of the street named after the legendary politician of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev took place in Astana. This event marks the 100th birth anniversary of the politician.
Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said the opening of the Kurmangazy Children’s Art Centre in Fuzuli city in Azerbaijan — a gift to the people of Azerbaijan from the Kazakh people illustrates friendship and mutual support between the two countries.
