The official visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan has begun on October 20, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reports.
The Uzbek leader is visiting the neighbouring state at the invitation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The leaders of the two states are expected to hold high-level talks on major aspects of bilateral and regional strategic cooperation.
They will consider enhancing cooperation in such areas as trade, industrial cooperation, energy partnerships, the chemical, agricultural, transport and logistics sectors, as well as the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
The talks are expected to result in the signing of a package of bilateral documents on priority areas of cooperation.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev will attend the opening ceremony of the Tashkent Park in the capital city, built as a sign of Uzbek-Turkmen friendship, and the launching ceremony of the construction project of a border trade centre.
The visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan will end on October 21.
