On October 17, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the construction projects of sports facilities in the Olympic Village and other facilities in Tashkent, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reports.
The Tashkent Olympic Village will host the 2025 Youth Asian Games. The construction projects of indoor sports, outdoor sports and water sports complexes in the Olympic Village were presented for review to the President.
The reports on the proposals of foreign companies and the deliveries of building materials and sports equipment were presented. Commenting on the reports, the President highlighted the need to elaborate on the use of sports facilities after the Asian Games closed. It would be reasonable to use the facilities in the Olympic Village for preparing athletes and coaches of the national team for international sports competitions and accommodating the Ministry of Sports Development and the sports federations in the administrative buildings, the President said.
As part of the tourism infrastructure development plan, the “Golden Ring” of Tashkent Region, which encompasses Zangiat, Chinaz, Akhangaran, Angren, Parkent and Bostanlyk districts, is under construction. It envisages reconstructing roads, landscaping the surrounding areas and improving electricity and drinking water supply.
The President reviewed the projects aimed at promoting pilgrimage tourism to the Hakim at-Termizi Mausoleum in Surkhandarya Region.
