Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan and Ambassador of Pakistan discuss cooperation

The interlocutors discussed the current state and prospects for promoting relations between the two countries in key areas.

On June 16, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Uzbekistan Sayyid Ali Asad Gilani, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported.

The talks focused on boosting mutually beneficial strategic cooperation, as well as the progress of the implementation of the agreements reached during the Uzbek-Pakistani high-level meetings.

The parties discussed the schedule of meetings for the current year, including the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan to Uzbekistan to participate in the Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which will be held in the capital of Uzbekistan on July 28-29.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Ambassador of Pakistan exchanged views on the prospects for deepening trade and economic partnerships to implement bilateral agreements on transit and preferential trade and discussed key aspects of cultural and humanitarian interaction.
