Foreign Ministry reports on misconduct by Kyrgyz diplomats

The Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasised that the approach to diplomatic activities and criteria for selecting diplomats would be revised.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev had a meeting with the staff of the Central Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting focused on identifying key priorities of the Ministry’s activities for the short and long term, as well as the implementation of the anti-crisis programme, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.

Talking about the staff’s everyday tasks, Kulubaev emphasised the personal and labour discipline, the need to optimise ideological and mentoring activities, the importance of promoting professional growth of Kyrgyz diplomats and purposeful human resources management.

The Minister provided a number of specific examples of the misconduct by diplomats in the country and abroad and their failure to uphold the national interests of Kyrgyzstan.

In this regard, the Minister emphasised that the approach to diplomatic activities and criteria for selecting diplomats would be revised.

Kulubaev also informed the participants about the work being done by the Ministry to reformat the structure of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to fulfil the tasks facing the country.
