An expanded joint meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council of Turkmenistan was held in Ashgabat. It was chaired by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The head of the state signed a government resolution on the allocation of 300 million US dollars to ensure food security, as reported by the news agency «Turkmenistan today».
Berdimuhamedov stressed that 150 million US dollars will be used to support businessmen. The remaining 150 million US dollars will be allocated to the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations for the purchase of food products.
Deputy Prime Minister for Economic and Financial Affairs Muhammetguly Muhammedov reported to the leader of the country on the plan to increase the production of poultry meat and eggs. He submitted to the president a draft resolution on the cultivation of fodder, corn and soybeans, and on the allocation of land plots to citizens who are interested in cultivating the crops.
Berdimuhamedov signed a document and instructed Muhammedov to keep the implementation of the relevant process under constant control.
