Tajikistan and Uzbekistan trade for $173.6 million in January-April

This is $40.5 million more than in January-April of 2021.

On May 26, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavki Zavkizoda met with First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov in Dushanbe. The interlocutors discussed trade cooperation, the press office of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan reports.

The interlocutors noted in January-April this year, Dushanbe and Tashkent traded for $173.6 million, which is $40.5 million more than in the first four months of 2021.

They discussed the organisational issues of the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, focusing on agreeing on the draft minutes of the meeting.

The officials discussed cooperation on investments. They considered creating Tajik-Uzbek enterprises in the FEZ of Tajikistan and expanding mutually beneficial partnerships in industry, energy, transport and agriculture.
