On March 21, a delegation from Klagenfurt, headed by Vice Mayor Alois Dolinar, arrived in Dushanbe at the invitation of Mayor Rustam Emomali. The interlocutors discussed further aspects of cooperation between the twin cities, the press office of the Administration of the capital of Tajikistan reported on March 22.
The Austria delegation took part in the 3rd International Forum “Navruz Dushanbe - the Centre of Cultural and Tourist Relations” and the 4th International Festival “Navruz – Cultural and Tourist Heritage”.
Dushanbe Deputy Chairman Jamshed Tabarzoda received the officials at the Mayor’s Office. The parties highlighted the importance of strengthening contacts between the two cities in the future. Particular attention was paid to the existing cooperation agreements.
The delegation had a meeting at the Committee of Tourism Development under the Government of Tajikistan. The foreign guests planted a tree in the Youth Cultural Park as a sign of friendship.
Dushanbe and Klagenfurt established twin town relationships in 1972. This year marks the 50th anniversary of these relationships.
