On March 17, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held online talks with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported.
The agenda focused on the practical implementation of a number of investment projects in Kazakhstan aimed at developing transit routes, achieving energy independence and modernising the financial sector. A dialogue between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the EBRD President has taken place recently.
Evaluating positively fruitful partnerships between the EBRD and Kazakhstan over many decades, the President of Kazakhstan expressed belief that constructive cooperation with the European financial institution will continue effectively. In this context, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev invited Odile Renault-Basso to pay a business visit to Kazakhstan.
Focusing on Kazakhstan’s commitment to cooperation, the EBRD President noted with satisfaction that the political reforms announced in the Address to the Nation and launched in the country. She also emphasised that the EBRD was committed to intensifying cooperation with Kazakhstan in achieving carbon neutrality.
