Customs infrastructure of Kazakhstan operates normally

The Anti-Crisis Task Force under the Government assured that there is no cause for concern in the current geopolitical realities.

On March 8, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov chaired a meeting of the Anti-Crisis Task Force. The discussion focused on the operations of the customs platforms of the country in the current geopolitical realities, the press office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

The Ministry of Finance reported on further approaches taken to develop customs and logistics infrastructure. The State Revenue Committee reported that the railway checkpoints Altynkol and Dostyk-Temirzhol on the border with the People’s Republic of China were operating normally.

It was reported that 4 out of 5 road checkpoints were operating, the Kalzhat checkpoint was not operating due to the pandemic. This decision was made by the Chinese side. The opening dates of this checkpoint will be agreed in the near future.

It was emphasised that the Government had intensified the movement of goods from China to Kazakhstan through the Nur-Zholy checkpoint. This checkpoint was equipped with an electronic queue, and the prices for transportation services were reduced by 2 times.

Alikhan Smailov highlighted the need to respond promptly to geopolitical challenges.
