Tajikistan continues to help UN build secure world

This was stated by the high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of relations between Dushanbe and the United Nations.

The high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan promised to continue cooperation with the United Nations. This statement was made on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of relations between Dushanbe and the United Nations, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reported on March 2.

Dushanbe-UN partnerships was launched on March 2, 1992 after Tajikistan gained independence. The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that Tajikistan has no intention to stop cooperating with the UN and will continue to help the international organisation build a safer and more secure world for future generations.

The Ministry officials added that UN Member States have approved the numerous initiatives of President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

These include the International Decades of Action “Water for Life” and “Water for Sustainable Development”. At the suggestion of the leader of Tajikistan, 2003 was declared the Year of Freshwater, and 2013 was declared the International Year of Water Cooperation.
