On February 22, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a telephone conversation with the head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The parties discussed the state of current cooperation, as well as concrete steps to realize reached agreements, as reported by «Turkmenistan Today».
Berdimuhamedov recalled that Ashgabat is actively cooperating with such Tatarstan companies as KamAZ, Tatneft, KER-Holding and the Kazan Helicopter Plant.
Minnikhanov stressed that businessmen of Tatarstan showed interest in the Turkmen market. According to the presidents, the implementation of the previously reached agreements will give an additional impetus to the existing partnership.
Particular attention was paid to the activities of the Turkmen-Tatarstan working group for cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology and culture. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expects that the group will propose a specific plan to expand the volume and diversify the trade turnover between Ashgabat and Kazan.
