On February 21, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held a meeting on the improvement of the activities of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC in accordance with the instructions of the President of Kazakhstan, the press office of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported.
It reported that reforms would aim to redirect targeted funding. Priority will be given to large-scale and capital-intensive investment projects that have strategic and economic advantages for the development of the country, as well as the proposals designed to boost growth in the real industrial and manufacturing sector.
Alikhan Smailov emphasised that the Board of DBK should focus its strategy on creating new modern industries. Further measures need to be taken to optimise and make its activities more transparent, introduce digital business processes and expand access to bank services, the Chairman of the Government said.
The Cabinet of Ministers conducts audits of subsoil use contracts and licenses. To date, the relevant authorities have identified 148 ore mining contracts and 27 hydrocarbon contracts with the low rate of implementation.
