On February 17, the Second Friendship Festival of Officers, Soldiers and Youth of Military Draft Age “I will faithfully serve the country and people” started in the capital of Tajikistan. It is held in accordance with the Resolution of Mayor Rustam Emomali. The Friendship Festival aims to encourage voluntary recruitment of young people into national armed forces, the press office of the Mayor’s Office of Dushanbe reported.
The Friendship Festival will last until February 23. It marks the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan. The Mayor’s Office allocated 105,500 somoni (about US$ 9,400) to hold the events in accordance with sanitary and epidemiological regulations.
The programme of the Friendship Festival includes mini-football, volleyball, national wrestling and athletics tournaments. Chess tournaments will take place in Dushanbe as well.
The “Military Achievements of Independence: Situation and Prospects” science conference will take place in the capital of the Republic. Promotional films will be demonstrated and meetings of young people with officers, soldiers and cadets will be held.
