Head of the Upper House of the Parliament of Tajikistan, Mayor of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali took part in the “Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: Water Unites Us” international conference. Speaking at the conference, he focused on women's contribution to solving global challenges, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reported on February 12.
Noting that women and girls make a significant contribution to addressing water issues, the Mayor of the capital of Tajikistan highlighted the steps taken by the Government of Tajikistan to ensure more participation of women in these processes.
He also highlighted the importance of promoting gender equality within the Dushanbe Water Process. It was noted that the capital of Tajikistan would host the Women Water forum from 6 to 9 June this year.
As was reported, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, the leaders of Slovenia, Cyprus, Portugal, Malta, Greece and Ecuador took part in the conference.
