The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation summed up the migration situation in the country in January-December 2021. In accordance with the migration report, citizens of Tajikistan received about 787,000 work permits in the Russian Federation last year, the State News Agency TASS reported on February 7.
According to the Ministry, over 2.2 million foreign citizens received work permits in Russia. More than 50% are citizens of Uzbekistan. The list of eligible migrants also includes citizens of Azerbaijan and Ukraine.
The Migrant Employment Exchange under the Tajikistan Federation of Trade Unions has been set up. It recruits citizens of the Republic who want to go to work to Russia. A curator accompanies them at the point of departure.
In the future, it is planned to open a representative office of the Moscow Multifunctional Migration Centre in Tajikistan.
It should be noted that citizens of Tajikistan who work legally in Russia will be henceforth eligible to receive a retirement pension.
