On February 2, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev reported that the leader of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov would pay a working visit to China on February 3-6, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.
Kulubayev noted that the President would attend the Opening Ceremony of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing and meet with President Xi Jinping during his working visit.
The interlocutors will discuss topical issues of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
The representative of the Administration of the President confirmed that the main issues under discussion during the forthcoming visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan to Beijing included the prospects for construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
Kyrgyzstan also intends to negotiate the expansion of the Irkeshtam and Torugart border checkpoints and the resumption of flights between the two states.
