Communications Service of Tajikistan recognizes poor quality of internet connection

Deputy Chairman of the Communications Service Atoev noted that electricity failures and high-rise buildings were to blame.

Recently, the quality of internet connection and mobile communications has deteriorated in Tajikistan. Deputy Chairman of the Communications Service Atoev made this statement at a press conference on January 31. He specified a number of factors that had led to the current situation, the ASIA-Plus News Agency reported.

Atoev noted that the internet speed in the Republic had been increased from 70 Gbps to 100 Gbps, but the quality had deteriorated. He said the Communications Service received many complaints, and social media users expressed dissatisfaction in their posts and comments.

Noting that power outages had been caused by the absence of diesel generators at a number of base stations, Atoev said this problem had been solved.

Noting that high-rise buildings induced interference effects, the Deputy Chairman of the Communications Service said additional base stations of the mobile network operators would be installed at high-rise buildings. This work will be done in the capital, districts and administrative centres of the regions of Tajikistan.

As was reported, Mayor of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali criticized the mobile internet speed in the city.
