A delegation of the French Republic, led by Head of the Department for Europe, North America and Multilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Armed Forces Guillaume Ollagnier, has arrived in Uzbekistan for a working visit, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported.
On December 6, the head of the French delegation held a meeting with Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev. The meeting focused on the current situation in Afghanistan and joint efforts of Uzbekistan and France to achieve political and humanitarian stability in this country.
The representative of France expressed concern about the difficult economic and humanitarian situation in Afghanistan and evaluated the efforts made by Uzbekistan to solve these problems, in particular the implementation of a number of joint transport and energy projects in the territory of Afghanistan.
An inclusive government, which would include representatives of national minorities and women, would enable Afghanistan to overcome a crisis and achieve stability, the participants of the meeting emphasised.
