The head of the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan in Tokyo Gurbanmammet Elyasov paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. There he met with the State Minister of Foreign Affairs Takako Suzuki. It was reported by the press office of the Embassy of Japan in Ashgabat on Instagram on December 7.
The parties discussed the effectiveness of the current interstate cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the prospects for further cooperation. The officials noted the importance of expanding the potential of partnership in various fields.
It should be noted that the Turkmen-Japanese relations include a wide range of areas. These are political, trade, economic, social, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres. A key place in the economic agenda of Turkmenistan and Japan is occupied by the implementation of joint projects and the strengthening of investment partnerships.
On September 5, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in a letter to Emperor of Japan Naruhito, congratulated the head of the Land of the Rising Sun on the opening of a gas turbine power plant in the Lebap province. The project was implemented by Turkmen, Japanese and Turkish companies.
