A consignment of 150,000 doses of the CoronaVac vaccine will arrive in Dushanbe from China soon.
As of April 20, 36,190 people have been vaccinated against coronavirus in the Republic of Tajikistan. In the near future, the country will receive the first consignment of the CoronaVac vaccine from China. Head of the State Sanitary Epidemiological Surveillance Service at the Ministry of Health and Social Protection Navruz Jafarov reported this to the Khovar State News Agency.
The immunologist informed that health workers, representatives of the medical department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Dushanbe international airport, teachers and students had received the vaccine.
Navruz Jafarov said about 150,000 doses of the CoronaVac vaccine would be delivered to Dushanbe within Tajikistan-China partnership. He also added that the Republic would receive the Russian vaccine against coronavirus, Sputnik V in the near future.
He emphasised that 6.714 million people would be vaccinated in the country.
As was reported, no new coronavirus cases have been reported in Tajikistan since January 11. President Emomali Rahmon announced the victory over the coronavirus disease. The vaccination campaign started on March 23.
