Rahmon congratulates citizens of Tajikistan on the holy month of Ramadan

The leader of Tajikistan explained who was allowed not to keep the fast and called on traders to sell products at affordable prices.

On April 12, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon congratulated citizens of the country on the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. He explained that the people who work under difficult working conditions were allowed not to keep the fast and called on local businessmen to sell goods at affordable prices, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reports.

This year, citizens of Tajikistan would be observing the holy month of Ramadan in the run-up to the 30th anniversary of independence of Tajikistan, Rahmon said.

According to the ulema, the people who work under difficult working conditions, in particular in the heavy industry and manufacturing sector, and ensure food security, could fast whenever it was convenient, the leader of Tajikistan said.

The President of Tajikistan called on businessmen and wealthy citizens to help orphans, people with disabilities, families in need and the poor. Noting that it was a sin to raise the prices during the holy month of Ramadan, Rahmon called on entrepreneurs to sell goods at affordable prices.
