Tokayev receives Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary

The diplomat said Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and Nursultan Nazarbayev were revered in Hungary as politicians with great authority.

On April 6, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Szijjarto. The President and the diplomat gauged the dynamics of bilateral strategic partnerships and the ‘schedule’ of trusting political contacts, including through involving the potential of the Turkic Council, the press office of Akorda reported.

The President expressed gratitude to Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban for participating in the informal Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States. The President expressed belief that the talks would contribute profoundly to promising bilateral relations.

Noting that Hungary was the first European country where Kazakhstan opened its embassy 30 years ago, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said Hungary enjoyed great popularity and sympathy among citizens of Kazakhstan.

The guest thanked the President for finding the time to meet and conveyed the greetings of the leadership of his country, emphasising that Hungary was ready to deepen comprehensive approaches to interactions with Kazakhstan. The diplomat said Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and Nursultan Nazarbayev were revered in Hungary as politicians with pragmatic views and significant political authority.
