Turkmenistan and Japan discuss interparliamentary relations

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with a member of Parliament from the friendly country Toshiaki Endo.

On May 14, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the Japan-Turkmenistan Interparliamentary Friendship Group Toshiaki Endo in Ashgabat. The talks focused on strengthening interaction between the legislative bodies of the two countries, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.

The parties exchanged views on priority aspects of cooperation. Berdimuhamedov and Endo noted that the countries are actively interacting within the United Nations, supporting each other’s initiatives to ensure global peace and sustainable development.

The interlocutors highlighted the progressive dynamics of interaction within the Central Asia plus Japan Dialogue. In this regard, Toshiaki Endo said he would be glad to see Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the Summit of this format and invited the President to visit the World Expo 2025, which will take place in Japan.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed belief that the visit of the Japanese delegation to Turkmenistan will contribute to fostering traditional interstate dialogue, including at a parliamentary level.
