Minister of Education of Kazakhstan Gani Beisembayev ordered that the psychology services in 14 regions of the country be enhanced, the press office of the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan reported.
The emergency meeting was convened after the child safety incidents had happened at the schools in Pavlodar and Zhambyl Regions. The deputy akims and the representatives of police, education departments and government bodies attended the meeting.
Beisembayev emphasised the need to enhance the psychology services where they exist and promptly set up such services in other regions. He highlighted the importance of improving in-school controls and assigning district inspectors to each school.
The Minister urged to improve the quality of in-school records and psychological and pedagogical support. He emphasised that child safety is a public problem, which requires a holistic approach.
As was reported, a schoolboy who had stabbed a classmate and a teacher was detained in Pavlodar. An investigation into this incident has been initiated. On the same day, the dead body of a minor boy was found near a house in Sypatai batyr village in Merken district. Law enforcement agencies are investigating this incident.
