Tajikistan set to attract South Korea’s investment

The Chairman of Khatlon Region and the Ambassador of South Korea to Tajikistan discussed the prospects of cooperation in agriculture, culture, education and tourism.

Chairman of Khatlon Region Davlatali Said met with Ambassador of South Korea to Tajikistan Kwon Dong-seok as part of the Welcome to Ancient Khatlon International Tourism Forum in Kulob district. The agenda focused on the prospects for attracting Korean investors to Tajikistan, Khovar reported.

The parties noted that Tajikistan and South Korea continue to promote bilateral diplomatic relations in mutual interests. The Chairman of Khatlon Region informed about the potential of one of the largest regions of Tajikistan that offers extensive opportunities for cooperation in various sectors.

 He emphasised that the authorities of Khatlon Region have created an enabling business environment in the region and welcome foreign investment.

The Ambassador of South Korea dwelt on the three large-scale projects to be implemented in Khatlon Region. He promised that he would visit the region in May to participate in the launch ceremony of one of these initiatives. The issues under discussion included cooperation in various areas, including international relations, economy, trade, industry, agriculture, education, culture, tourism and joint ventures.
