Uzbekistan’s economy grows at a rate of 5.8% in three quarters of 2023

The service sector, industry and agriculture showed the highest growth rates.

The economic growth rates for the first 9 months of the year, as well as forecasts for the next year and long-term expectations were discussed at a meeting led by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. As was reported, Uzbekistan’s economy grew by 5.8% during this period, the press office of the President of the Republic  reported to CentralAsia.news.

Particular attention was paid to the growth rate in the services sector, which stood at 12.1%. The agricultural sector showed positive results as well, with the growth rate of 4.1%. The industrial sector showed a growth rate of 5.7%. Exports increased by 23.5%, reaching $17.7 billion. These rates were achieved despite the challenges in international trade.

The President noted that a key priority today is to use internal resources to ensure sustainable economic growth. He noted that regional infrastructure requires attention and allocated 35 trillion soums to improve it. 19 trillion soums were allocated for social support programmes.
