The head of MFA of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Catherine Colonna. The parties signed a program of cooperation between diplomatic departments for 2024-2026. This was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press office of the MFA of France.
The ministers noted the positive dynamics of interstate partnership. They underlined the importance of developing relations in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
In addition, diplomats agreed to continue their discussions and focus on areas of shared interest within methane emissions reductions and water resources management. Catherine Colonna thanked the authorities of Turkmenistan for support of an international order.
The foreign ministers also signed a declaration of intent on cooperation in the educational sector.
During the visit of the Turkmen delegation to France, representatives of the countries signed a declaration of friendly agreement on twinning between the cities of Arkadag and Maisons-Laffite and cooperation agreement between the State bank for foreign economic affairs of Turkmenistan and the Union de Banques Arabes et Françaises.
