Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Minsk Nazarkuly Shakulyev met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei Aleinik. The parties discussed steps to develop cooperation in the economic sphere. This was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press office of the Turkmen diplomatic mission.
Officials focused on the upcoming meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic partnership. The event will take place in Minsk in the second half of 2023.
Nazarkuly Shakulyev and Sergey Aleinik also pointed out the importance of maximizing the potential of cooperation in education, culture, science and technologies.
In February, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Berdiniyaz Myatiev met with Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Igor Nazaruk. They noted readiness to intensify commercial contacts between businessmen of the republics.
Earlier, the Ambassador of Belarus to Ashgabat Vyacheslav Beskosty said that in 2022 trade turnover between the countries increased by 46,6%.
