On August 28, the Governor of the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation Igor Babushkin met with the consul of Turkmenistan Nury Golliev, who completed his mission. The official wished the diplomat success in his future work. This was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Relations of the region.
Igor Babushkin congratulated Nury Golliev on his appointment as Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan. He noted that the diplomat took an active part in the implementation of numerous joint projects. The governor also pointed out the prospects for cooperation in the shipbuilding, tourism, and logistics industries, as well as within the development of the North-South transport corridor.
The head of the region commended the relations between Turkmenistan and Astrakhan. He stressed that in 2024 the region will host a number of events on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the famous Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fragi.
Nury Golliev started working as the consul of Turkmenistan in the Astrakhan Region in October 2022. On August 25, 2023, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree appointing a diplomat as ambassador to Kyrgyzstan.
